Introduction to Technology – $50
A 12-hour course teaching the basics of using operating systems (Windows iOS), Microsoft Office, and searching the Internet

Windows – $50
A 20-hour course teaching the basics of the Windows 10 operating system

A working knowledge of Windows is required for the following classes:

Excel – $50
A 12-hour course teaching the basics of Excel – a spreadsheet program

Microsoft Word – $50
A 12-hour course teaching the basics of Microsoft Word – a word processing program

PowerPoint – $50
A course teaching the basics of PowerPoint – a presentation graphics program

Beginners IPAD – $50
A 12-hour course teaching the basics of using an IPAD

 

SPANISH – $50

A 6-week conversational Spanish class

It is the responsibility of each student to show a positive image. All students are expected to present a neat, well-groomed appearance during school hours, which does not distract or interfere with the operation of the school. No apparel should be worn that distracts from the learning process. Student attire should not be immodest or revealing and should comply with requirements for health and safety. Sagging is not permitted, and hoodies should be removed upon entering the building. No night caps, shower caps, or duo rags are allowed. No offensive or suggestive language or photos that depict tobacco, guns, knives, drugs, alcohol, sex, nudity, profanity, or gang related items should be displayed on any clothing worn to school.

The Sumter Adult Education Program follows a managed enrollment schedule:
Session II October 15, 2024 – December 12, 2024
Session III January 7, 2025 – February 27, 2025
Session IV March 11, 2025 – May 8, 2025
Session V  June 2, 2025 – June 30, 2025

School Closings and Early Dismissals

Due to Inclement Weather

The director will monitor weather closely regarding early dismissal or school closings. Students should listen to their local radio and television stations and watch for announcements regarding school delays, early dismissals or school closings when there is ice, snow, flood, or severe storm. Please listen for the information pertaining to the Sumter School District. In the event of a tornado while in school, all students are to follow directions from the teacher.

During periods of unsafe weather conditions when it may be questionable to hold school, the school district has several options including closing schools, opening schools one hour late, or opening schools two hours late.

Decisions for any of these options will be announced to the public no later than 5:00 a.m. on the day in question on the following local radio and television stations: WIBZ 95.5 FM, WKHT 93.7 FM, WICI 94.7 FM, WNOK 104.7 FM, WDXY 1240 AM, WTCB 106.7 FM, WCOS 97.5 FM, WLJI 98.3 FM, WWDM 101.3 FM, WHXT 103.9 FM and WMHK 89.7 FM. The television stations used are WIS TV 10, WOLO TV 25, WBTW 13, WACH 6, and WLTX TV 19. Information will also be announced on the Sumter School District web page.
