What do I need to bring to enroll in the program?  
  • Students will need some form of identification (driver’s license, library card, employee badge, state ID, etc.)

  • If a student has any past school records such as transcripts, report cards, or name/address of last school attended, this information is useful in enrolling, but not required.

ESL

ESL qualifications
  • For residents of Sumter County who are non-English-speaking adults, 17 years of age or older.

Students develop English language skills to:
  • Participate in American society

  • Enter employment

  • Advance in the workplace

  • Be successful in the citizenship process

ESL Program levels of instruction
  • Levels help non-English speaking students build and attain language skills using an integrated approach to learning. The skills of listening, speaking, grammar, reading and writing are taught, as well as general aspects of American culture and civics. New students are tested to ensure placement accuracy.

Cost
  • Qualifying students attend classes without cost.
